Republican Senator from Texas, Ron Paul, is fighting to end the Federal Reserve. While I agree with his stance that the Fed needs more transparency. A very touchy issue that was raised by CNBC's Steve Liesman is; should the public know when a bank goes to the Fed because of a short term liquidity issue? Of course we should. I agree with Ron Paul that transparency in markets and our financial institutions is critical. However, I disagree that the Fed is a bad thing. Certain parts of our government need to be above the immediate political fray.
